Centre for Research into the Older Workforce

In 2003 I founded the Centre for Research into the Older Workforce at the University of Surrey. It was funded by the South East of England Development Agency, to investigate, in the context of a rapidly ageing society, the potential contribution of older people to the region’s economy. In 2006 the Centre moved from the University of Surrey to the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education, and then to the University of Newcastle, where it is now led by Dr Matt Flynn.

The Centre has carried out research for a variety for clients, including Government Departments, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, the TUC and the Nuffield Foundation.

The Centre’s current work is described at CROW
